Leaf House by Mareines and Patalano Arquitetura

The House of leaf, a tropical beach house was designed by Mareine + Patalano Architecture is located in Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The House of the leaf was inspired by Indian architecture in Brazil, perfectly suited for hot and humid climate, where it is, Rio de Janeiro.

The cover acts like a large sheet that protects the hot sun all enclosed spaces of the house, such as terraces and open spaces in between. These two types of space are the main social areas, the essence of design. They allow the trade winds from the sea to pass through the building, providing natural ventilation and passive cooling.
